battle prowess
yuta is one of four special grade jujutsu sorcerers and even though he hasn't been a sorcerer for long at all, he's very much earned his status as a special grade despite it initially only having been granted to him because of rika. he's very strong and skilled, made all the more formidable for his high tactical intellect. although he favors his katana as a weapon of choice, he's adept at hand-to-hand combat and trained with the most proficient cursed tool user at his school, leading to him gathering his own inventory of cursed tool weapons and becoming a versatile fighter.
cursed energy
yuta has immense near-bottomless cursed energy (a form of spiritual energy) which is the whole reason why he's a special grade. he wields it in various ways, like using cursed energy manipulation and reinforcement to reinforce his weak body, granting him superhuman strength, speed, reflexes and toughness. he can also output it by channeling cursed energy into his attacks for devastating destructive blows. he can resupply his energy with rest or by using rika as his second reserve.
reverse cursed technique
yuta's control over his cursed energy is so proficient, he can use the notoriously difficult reverse cursed technique in which cursed energy is converted to positive energy which enables him to heal himself and others. it can both heal injuries as well as poison. yuta can also use this positive energy in his attacks as well, making it effective against curses. using this technique comes at a high cost of both cursed energy and stamina.
rika
rika is a cursed spirit that's the result of yuta accidentally cursing his childhood friend when she was killed in front of him during an accident. she has since passed on but the cursed spirit vessel still remains with her lingering will to protect yuta. she's so powerful that she's known as the queen of curses, able to channel her overwhelming cursed energy into pure physical strength, energy blasts, and even use reverse cursed technique on both herself and yuta. although generally following yuta's commands, she can and will partially manifest to defend yuta of her own accord and is capable of acting independently from him. she also serves as external storage for yuta's cursed tools and copied techniques as well as a reserve of cursed energy. she can even store and carry other people. when yuta fully manifests rika using the wedding ring his childhood friend gave him as a medium, he has access to said storage. he can only maintain a full manifestation for five minutes, meaning he can only use his copied techniques for that duration unless he's using his domain expansion.

copy is yuta's unique innate technique that allows him to copy the techniques of other sorcerers with the condition that rika has to consume a body part of the sorcerer in order to replicate the technique. the stronger the technique, the more vital the body part needed. if the other sorcerer regenerates the lost body part then the copied technique disappears again. he's unable to use multiple copied techniques simultaneously, he can only switch between them while rika is fully manifested.COPIED TECHNIQUES (SPOILERS!!)
- CURSED SPEECH — a technique that reinforces speech with cursed energy to issue commands that the listener is forced to comply to. it's effectiveness depends on the difference in the opponent's strength and the command itself. the more powerful the command, the more physically draining it is. there's also a risk that the words might backfire if the opponent is too strong. markings appear on yuta's cheeks and tongue when cursed speech is activated.
SHIKIGAMI — using strands of his hair as a medium, yuta can summon small bat-like shikigami shaped like rika's head that will fly around a target to create an inviolable domain in their tracks. anyone who then steps outside that domain will be slashed.
SKY MANIPULATION — a technique that controls the sky and turns it into a tangible surface to manipulate space with like how a lens creates distortion. often used by grabbing the "sky" and using it to redirect or obfuscate attacks. also comes with flight and the thin ice breaker ability in which the surface of the sky is hit and shattered like a thin layer of ice while trapping the opponent, hitting them with a powerful shockwave.
TECHNIQUE EXTINGUISHMENT — a technique that will negate all other cursed techniques, including barriers and seals. an extension of this is maximum output: jacob's ladder in which a target is blasted with a pillar of light and all techniques within that light are nullified.
G WARSTAFF — a technique that, once an opponent's blood has been drawn, can be used to attach a manga panel to them that will show their near future starting with one second in advance. the more blood that's subsequently drawn, the further into the future the panel will show.
SHRINE — a technique that unleashes invisible slashes to eviscerate enemies. cleave is a part of it and is a more specific attack that will adjust its power to the target's durability in order to cut them in one strike, but physical contact with the target is needed for this.
BRAIN TRANSPLANT — a technique that allows its user to swap bodies by use of a brain transplant and thus inherit all their abilities and memories. still subject to rika's five minute rule so can't be used to body hop permanently.
domain expansion: authentic mutual love
a domain expansion is a barrier technique that traps others inside and subjects them to the user's innate cursed technique which has been improved and turned into a sure-hit attack within the barrier. in yuta's case, he can choose to imbue his domain with a copied technique of his choice as the sure-hit effect and narrow it to strike chosen targets only which allows allies to be in his domain without being hit by the effect. his domain takes the shape of a wrecked field of crosses adorned by giant mizuhiki knots and littered with infinite katanas. every katana holds a copied technique that can be used without restriction even if rika isn't fully manifested, but yuta doesn't know which katana will hold which technique until he touches it. the katana is destroyed after a single use. domain expansion requires immense cursed energy and renders the user unable to use their innate technique for a short while afterward.
